Police Kill Unborn Baby

One law for them...

Last year, on 14th April, Rebecca Tooke was arrested, allegedly for assaulting a pair of police officers. However, on 9th March 2007, Norwich Magistrates’ Court found her not guilty of the charge, as CCTV footage clearly showed that she did not attack the police officers, despite the claims of the officers themselves.

However, there is more to this case than wrongful arrest, something much more tragic lies beneath the surface. Miss Tooke, 21, was pregnant at the time. The day after her encounter with the police, she was admitted into Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital where she suffered a miscarriage. This was most likely due to the force used against Miss Tooke, who was violently slammed against the side of a freezer and later a police car, even though she had repeatedly told Pcs Beverley Coombes and Catriona McFadyen that she was pregnant.

An investigation has been launched looking into the actions of the pair of cops, but as we all know, the chance of it amounting to anything are slim. The police have a habit of getting away with things that would land anyone else in prison for a long, long time.
